Our instrumental sessions, which you can choose between private or shared lessons, are tailored to your needs. Our dedicated teachers focus on developing your technique while selecting repertoire that aligns with your interests and skill levels. Musical Playdate

Our engaging program is designed for toddlers aged 1.5 to 3 years and their parents or caregivers. In just 30 minutes, you and your little one will enjoy singing, games, storytelling, and exploring a variety of age-appropriate instruments. Join us for a fun-filled session that stimulates early musical awareness and encourages creative expression through music!

Young Musicians

Our engaging music and movement classes for children aged 3-5 years are designed to spark creativity and foster a love for music. Through singing, music literacy, instrument play, and dance, your little ones will explore the joy of music in a nurturing environment. With a maximum of eight students per class, we ensure personalized attention and an optimal learning experience for your budding musicians.

Guidance, Inspiration and Support

Marian Nelson

Director & Founder

Marian founded the Jumeirah Music Centre Perth in 2011 with children in mind and crafted her own music and movement program to create a progressive curriculum to develop young musicians and prepare them later for individual music instructions.  Marian holds a master’s degree in Music from UWA and a bachelor’s degree in Musicology from University of the Philippines. She has a licentiate diploma in Vocal Performance from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and a licentiate diploma in Music Education from London Trinity College.

As a vocal artist and performer, Marian made her stage debut in Dubai as the Dew Fairy in an international production of Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel alongside principals from the UK, USA, and Canadian opera companies. Marian has appeared in recitals, concerts, and operatic engagements across the Philippines, United Arab Emirates and Australia. Highlights include solo appearances with the Dubai Singers, Art Song Perth, and Vivaldi's 'Gloria' with the Dubai Chamber Orchestra and Choir.

Tristan Murphy

Visiting Piano Teacher

Tristan graduated from New England Conservatory of Music in Boston studying under Meng-Chieh Liu.  Before this, he studied under Mark Coughlan in Perth and graduated from Juilliard Pre-College in New York under Victoria Mushkatkol.
Tristan has given many solo, concerto and chamber in places such as New York, Boston, Las Vegas, Aspen, Miami, Canada, Italy, Australia and Korea.  He has won many national and international piano competitions including the Australian National Eisteddfod,  International Piano Competition for Young Musicians, Pepsi-Co National Concerto Competition and the Miami International Music Festival Competition.

Tristan has also participated extensively in many international festivals and played in masterclasses for great artists such as Dimitri Bashkirov, Nelita True, Choong-Mo Kang, Ilana Vered, Gary Graffman. Currently, Tristan is pursuing his Master of Music degree in piano performance under Jerome Rose at Mannes School of Music in New York.

Jayson Fish

Guitar Teacher

Jayson has over 6 years of teaching experience as a private guitar tutor for his own business as a sole proprietor and a group guitar teacher in a music school based in Leederville.

Jayson graduated from WAAPA with a Diploma in Contemporary Music. He specialises in finger-style guitar and classical guitar but is also well versed in lead and rhythm guitar.

Angelo Ravina

Jazz Piano Teacher

Pianist/keyboardist Angelo Ravina is an up-and-coming Perth musician graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA)with a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Performance).

During his time at WAAPA, Angelo has been involved in several large ensembles, including the Keyboard Warriors, the Phat Funk Band and the WAAPA Big Band. In 2022 he had the opportunity to perform alongside Grammy nominated pianist Barney McAll for WAAPA’s Jazz in the Theatre.

Angelo is heavily involved in the Perth music scene, playing a variety of styles with many different artists and bands. He was involved in Fringe World Festival 2022 with Desia Afrosoul, a musical project that won a “Variety Line-Up Event” Weekly Award. He was also a key member of Perth neo-soul/hip-hop band Soul Lab, consistently selling out shows at The Ellington Jazz Club and the Duke of George. He currently performs with afro-pop band TAB Familyand neo-soul/R&B band Souleil. He also performs with Metro Big Band as a special guest, and does corporate and wedding gigs on the side. Alongside all these bands, Angelo is also a proud member of the Royal Australian Navy Band WA.

 Kate Nelson

Student Teacher, Violin

As an advanced violin student, Kate is a much loved teacher at Jumeirah Music Centre Perth. Her valuable traits include: dedication and commitment, approachability, engaging teaching style, patience, and sense of humour. 

At just 8 years of age, Kate won second place in Joondalup Eisteddfod Solo Stringed Instrument. Kate also received a High Achievement Award at Prendiville Specialised Music. For a short while, she was a member of Northern Lights Music Community Orchestra.

Kate made her debut performance as a solo violinist in 2023 at the Gawad Kalinga Australia charity event for the benefit of ‘Kusina Ng Kalinga’ Children Feeding Program.
